MAC Prep+Prime 24-Hour Extend eye base

Geri pagrindai ir pamatai reikalingi ne tik santykiams, būstui, verslui ar apskritai gyvenimui, bet ir makiažui. Turbūt net ir geriausios priemonės, skirtos veido ar akių makiažui, nesužydi pačios iš savęs taip puikiai, kaip tai pavyksta padaryti kartu naudojant priemonei skirtą pagrindą. 

Really good base is required not only for the relationships, homes, businesses and the life itself - really good base is also required for the great make up. I do believe that even the best make up products won't look as good on their own as it looks using special primers and bases.

Gero akių šešėlių pagrindo aš ieškojau jau kurį laiką. Vieną radusi lyg ir buvau, tačiau nesibaigiančioje ir nuolat vis atsinaujinančioje makiažo srityje rasti vieną patinkantį produktą ir likti prie jo - itin sunku, nes kiekviena sritis siūlo vis kažką kitokio, kažką naujo, kažką geresnio (ar prastesnio) už tokio pat tipo kitos firmos produktą. Nesibaigiantis bandymų ratas.. Todėl radusi kažką įdomaus, tai įsidėmiu ir bandau kažką naujo. Tačiau bandymas, apie kurį noriu šiandien papasakoti, mane nuvylė po to, kai maniau, jog tikrai radau ypatingą priemonę..

For a good while I was trying to find really great eye shadow primer. I have kind of found that great one, however as the make up business is never ending in this world and every day every manufacturer brings up something new, it is almost impossible to find one product that you like and stick to it as you always want to try out something new, find something better or disappoint yourself with something worse.. It's like a closed loop of trying, testing and discovering.. So when I find something interesting - I keep that in mind for the laters and then looking for something new. However the product that I want to review today was a really great discovery until I've started noticing some annoying things and then it simply became one of those "Not to use" products..

MAC Prep+Prime 24-Hour extend eye base, 12ml, ~€21

MAC akių šešėlių pagrindu pirmiausia susigundžiau dėl to, kad ši kompanija mane nuvilia tikrai gana retai - aš MAC priemonėmis tiesiog pasitikiu. O kadangi tokios priemonės man jau reikėjo ir norėjosi išbandyti kažką naujo, pasukau į jų parduotuvę. Daug žadantis produktas, įpakuotas ne itin patogioje pakuotėje, tačiau bala nematė - pačios priemonės kokybė svarbesnė už pakuotę. Iš esmės ji man visai patiko savo išvaizda (neįkyriais žėručiais padabinta juoda minkšto plastiko tūtelė su saugiai užsukamu kamšteliu, visa informacija apie priemonę nurodyta gana aiškiai, naudoti gana patogu, tačiau priemonės iš tokios pakuotės vienam kartui išspausti gana sunku, nes tūtelės skylė gana didelė ir produkto dažnai išsispaudžia per daug, jeigu imi ją lengva ranka). Kartoninė dėžutė taip pat pagaminta iš storo kartono, žodžiu MAC investuoja ne tik į pačius produktus, bet ir į jų pakuotes. Tik kartais neapgalvoja apie tai, ar parinkta pakuotė tikrai patogi ir tinkamiausia vieno ar kito tipo produktui naudoti..

I was intrigued to try out this eye shadow primer by MAC firstly because I really trust this company. Fairly rarely I get disappointed by MAC products and because I was out of my eyeshadow primer and wanted to try something new, I went straight to their shop. Quite promising product got my attention. Even though the packaging of it isn't the smartest for this type of product, I still like it. Simple black and sparkly soft plastic tube with secure screwable top, all information about the product is displayed on the packaging. As the plastic is soft, it is easy to use the product, but not very handy as every time you squeeze much more than required for one use because the hole of the tube is simply too big for this type of the product. The box is made from quite thick black carton with all of the information, too. So basically once again it's proved that MAC invests not only in their products but also in the packagings of them. However, I think that sometimes they don't really think about the fact that one or another packaging is the best for the product packed in it..

Man patiko tai, jog priemonė iš esmės yra kūno spalvos išspaudus, o užtepus prisitaiko prie bet kokio odos atspalvio. Produktas gana tirštas, tačiau ant vokų skirstosi lengvai ir nedžiūna akimirksniu, todėl nereikia labai skubintis. Labai skalsus, nes užtenka vos mažo kiekio pilnai padengti abiems vokams. Nepermuša (tiksliau būtų sakyti pradžioje nepermušdavo) šešėlių savo spalva, nes jos nelabai turi. Neturi jokio erzinančio kvapo, nesausina ir neriebina vokų, šešėlius vietoje išlaiko tikrai bent jau visą darbo dieną ir ilgiau, tačiau jų ant vokų išlaikyti 24val aš tikrai nebandžiau, todėl negaliu pasakyti, ar pavadinimas atitinka realybę.

Viskas skamba lyg ir puikiai, bet.. Bėgant laikui ir naudojant šią priemonę aš pradėjau pastebėti dalyką, kuris man labai labai erzino. Ir jis nedingo net man išbandžius įvairiausius šio akių šešėlių pagrindo naudojimo būdus. Produktas, bėgant laikui, pradėjo palikti savo spalvą ir ne bet kaip, o tarsi plėmais ir dėmėm. Kai pamačiau tai pirmą kartą, pagalvojau, kad gal man vaidenasi.. Tačiau kai tai pradėjo aiškiai matytis diena iš dienos, kai pagrindo nebeišėjo išsklaidyti ar gražiai padengti šešėliais, nes ant voko išdžiūvęs jis gana aiškiai pranešė apie savo buvimą, aš jį naudoti tiesiog nustojau. Nepriklausomai nuo to, kaip daug ar mažai priemonės buvo tepta ant voko (mažas lašas išskirstytas per judančią voko dalį ar plonu sluoksniu iškart pateptas visas vokas), kokiu būdu ji buvo tepta (įtapšnota pirštu ar lengvai paskirstyta šepetėliu), priemonė tiesiog švietė pro bet kokį šviesų šešėlį. Man tai pasidarė visiškai nepriimtina, su šiuo produktu susitvarkyti aš nebegalėjau, nustojau jį naudoti ir grįžau prie savo seno, gero, patikrinto akių šešėlių pagrindo..

I really liked the fact that the primer has nude shade in the packaging but on the skin it kind of adapts to each shade. It's quite thick, but easy to apply and blend on the eyeballs. It doesn't dry up straight away so after putting it on the lids you don't need to rush as if you would run for your life in some sprint - you can take your time and blend it out well. It is really long lasting as you only need a small amount of the primer to fully cover both eyeballs. It didn't show up under the eye shadows, doesn't have any annoying smell, doesn't dry or grease the lids, really keep the eye shadows in place for at least all working day and a bit longer (I didn't had my eye shadows staying on the lids for 24 hours, so can't prove that it stays in place for this long, though).

All of the above sounds kind of great, until.. I was using it for a good bit and one day started noticing something weird. And then later on it didn't disappear even after trying out different ways of using the product and I was so annoyed and simply stopped using this primer. It started to show up through the eye shadows and foundation when dry. So basically I put the foundation on my skin, then some eye shadow primer, eye shadows and it's all hunky dory. But this one started to show its signs when dry and I couldn't cover it with eye shadows, more foundation, concealer. It simply went through all other stuff! I've tried using a small drop only on the moving part of my lid, I've tried using thin layer through all of my lid. I've tried using it with fingers by tapping easily on the skin and tried using it with different eye brushes. NOTHING WORKED. I could still see it so well when it dried and I couldn't get over it! Put it back deep to the box and never went back to it - got my old gold never letting down type of eye shadow primer and still feel very angry with MAC..

Dabar, praėjus kuriam laikui po šios priemonės naudojimo, man tarsi norisi, kad vėl grįžtu tie labai labai mėgstu šį produktą laikai, nes ji iš pirmo žvilgsnio atrodo tokia gera. Bet kartu taip nesinori susigadinti savo makiažo vos pradėjus jį daryti dėl to, jog priemonė tiesiog šviečia ten, kur neturėtų to daryti.. Ar Jūs bandėte šį produktą ir jei taip, kokie Jūsų įspūdžiai? Gal radote kažkokį paslaptingą būdą, kaip jį naudoti tam, kad galėčiau prikelti priemonę atgal į verta naudoti sąrašą??

And now after I haven't used it for some time, I would kinda like to try it out again and see if it's still in same place where I definitely not recommend it or maybe it would go back to the great product list, BUT I don't want to ruin my make up straight away, so I'm kind of scared to even take it out of the deep corner of the box.. Have you ever tried this primer and if yes - what do you think about it? Maybe you have some secret tips how to use it so that it would go back to "great to use" product list??
